New York's Chinatown, 1960s. You've acquired a handful of properties and businesses — restaurants, laundries, factories, florists — but there's a problem: they're probably not where you need them. The person across the table, on the other hand, has exactly the property that would complete your restaurant.

Chinatown is about negotiation and trading, and almost everything is up for discussion. Each round gives players properties and business tiles, then turns the table loose to make deals. Trade a property for another property. Sell a business for cash. Package three things together. Make an offer, get rejected, sweeten it, walk away, come back five minutes later.

Complete businesses earn more money, so everyone has something somebody else wants. There are very few rules governing how you get there — the game is really about learning what something is worth to the person sitting across from you, not just what it's worth to you!

Each round, players receive random property deeds and business tiles, then openly negotiate trades, leases, and partnerships to build contiguous sets. Placing and expanding businesses increases income each turn, so savvy deal-making and timing drive payouts and final victory points.
