Can I play at TTL without a membership?

You are welcome to reserve your first table or join an event for free, we encourage you to try us out once on us. We will also have occasional events that are open to the public.

Beyond that, we do not offer per visit pricing. We're trying to build a community of members, not a pay-as-you-go game cafe.

Why quarterly pricing?

We chose quarterly pricing instead of yearly, monthly or per-visit pricing because we think it provides the best balance of flexibility while encouraging the type of community that we want to build.

How long will the founding member pricing be available?

We can't tell you for sure, but we can tell you how we'll make that decision.

We want Tabletop Library to be affordable so people can join, and also sustainable so we can actually be around long term. We spent endless research looking at other memberships -- from Equinox to Modern Sailing, Bay Padel to SF Clayer's Club. Then we talked to over a hundred prospective members, and heard about the price anchored to everything from the cost of a family dinner out once a month, to the cost of a movie night out. $199 / quarter felt in line with most customers expectations and - as long as we can sell a few games and pastries along the way - enough to break even.

But it's a guess, and as we get to the opening date don't be surprised if it changes to accommodate demand.

How does cancellation work?

You can cancel your membership at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Your membership will remain active until the end of your current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial periods, but you'll continue to have full access until your membership expires.

What are guest passes?

Each member receives 5 guest passes per month. Guest passes allow you to bring friends who aren't members to play games and enjoy the space. Guest passes don't roll over month-to-month, but they're a great way to bring friends to a game, and introduce friends to TTL and see if they want to join.

How does the family add-on work?

The family add-on allows you to add up to 4 additional family members to your membership (household limit of 5 total, including you). Each family member gets their own account and can independently make reservations, check out games, and use guest passes. All family members share the same billing, and the whole household is covered under one membership fee.

What about the coworking add-on?

The coworking add-on is not available yet. We're focusing on getting our core membership and game library running smoothly first. Once we're up and running, we plan to offer weekday morning access (8am-4pm) to a dedicated coworking space with a quiet environment for focused work, high-speed WiFi, coffee and refreshments, and the ability to take quick game breaks.

Do I need to be approved or screened to be a member?

No. Anyone can join until membership is full. That said, we reserve the right to offer a full refund to members who have a problem following the house rules. We're building a space where people feel comfortable and welcome, and that requires everyone to do their part.

When will I be charged?

You will not be charged until Tabletop Library's opening day, which is expected to be around January 2026. When you purchase a founding membership now, you're securing your spot and helping us plan our opening inventory and staffing. We hope you'll join us.
