Mountain Goats
Roll the dice, do a little quick math, and scramble your goats up the peaks. Each mountain is numbered, and you combine your dice to match those numbers so your goats can climb. Reach the summit to score, but watch out: only one goat can stand on top at a time, and the next one to arrive knocks yours right back down. It's fast, it's a little cutthroat, and it's sneakily great for practicing addition. Kids tend to pick it up in one round and start beating the adults by round three.
Penguin Party
From the brilliant Reiner Knizia (whose quick games you may have played at our grand opening), Penguin Party is a card game about building a wobbly pyramid of penguins. Every penguin has to sit on top of two penguins of the same color, and the goal is to get rid of your cards before you run out of places to put them. Rounds take just a few minutes, it plays with up to six people, and it's the perfect game for little hands and short attention spans.
Play penguin cards to extend the pyramid’s base or stack higher cards when the supports match, aiming to empty your hand before getting stuck. Spaces vanish fast, so you’re constantly watching for colors that let you play now instead of taking painful penalty markers.
